Bronze, signed: "Ibram Lassaw, 1940". Wooden base.
Height: approx. 36 cm. Wooden base: approx. 12X15.5X18 cm. Good-fair condition. Patina.
Sculptor Ibram Lassaw (1913-2000) was born in Alexandria, and immigrated with his family to the United States in 1921. He studied sculpture in New York, at the Clay Club and later at the Beaux-Arts Institute of Design. During the 1930s, he started exploring abstract sculpture and was a founding member of the organization American Abstract Artists. His first solo exhibition was held in New York in 1951; after that he exhibited widely, becoming one of the most prominent American sculptors. During the 1950s, he received many commissions from synagogues in the United States, and is considered one of the pioneers of abstract synagogue art.

Terms of Sale

All payments must be paid in full prior to anyone picking up or removing livestock from Circle D property. It is the owner's responsibility to pay for the yardage fees and or shipping of any livestock that was not picked up by a buyer that has not paid or made arrangement to pay in a 7-day period. All shipping cost is between the buyer and seller at no additional cost to Circle D Auction, it's owners or employees. All shipping must be arranged and scheduled I advance prior to picking up livestock.

Buyers Premium & VAT

The amount mentioned in an offer at a sale by a Purchaser which is accepted ('the Hammer Price') shall be paid to "Kedem" by the Purchaser, together with the commission of 25% of the Hammer Price ('the Commission') and Israeli VAT on commision only. Payment to "Kedem" shall be effected immediately upon the conclusion of the auction but, at any event, not later than seven days after the date of the auction.
