The present work is the original studio maquette for the work exhibited at the Silver Jubilee Contemporary British Sculpture Exhibition at Battersea, London, in 1977 (see P. Cannon-Brookes, Ivor Roberts-Jones, London, 1983, p.8, no. 1, illustrated). The model was a student at Goldsmith's College, where Roberts-Jones was, at this time, Head of Sculpture. The work is also known as Vicky in a Long Cloak.
