Description

the former parading in geta, accompanied by her customary kamuro following behind, the latter imitating both the posture and walk of her mistress, the fan decoration on their kimono possibly indicates that they are from the House of Ogiya, publisher's mark of Urokogataya Magobei, a poem inscribed above:

Iro kaenu / matsu wa yuki nimo / najimi kana
'[the leaves of] pine trees, which never fade, are thus familiar even with the snow [of Winter]'

signed Ishikawa Shuha Toyonobu zu with seals Ishikawa Uji and Toyonobu

Condition Note: Superb impression with exceptional preservation of colour, a little soiled with wormage but otherwise in very good condition
