Description

Drawing shows panoramic view of large farmstead with connected buildings, barns, fields, and livestock including sheep, horses, cows, chickens, turkeys, etc. Two men with horse drawn plows tend fields. Title in bottom border. Signed lower left and numbered 548. Housed in an antique period burl walnut frame with gold liner. Brader emigrated to Pennsylvania and then on to Ohio. His Ohio drawings were done during the decade 1885-1895. "Brader's drawings are prized for their large scale, fine execution, and warm detailed transcription of rural 19th century life". SIGHT SIZE: 28 1/2" h x 41 1/2" w. CONDITION: Paper has browned and has some staining, several tears and one repair to top edge. 9-91377.
