London: John Stockdale, 1793. 4° (293 x 217mm). Engraved frontispiece, title vignette, 10 plates and 5 maps, 2 folding. (Map of New South Wales with tear at fold affecting several lines of text and tear at upper border, other large map heavily creased at centre fold, map of Southern Hemisphere cut close at margin, occasional light spotting to plates, light offsetting and occasional light browning to text, quire Qq slightly thumb-soiled.) Contemporary tree calf (rubbed and scuffed, spine chipped at head and with upper joints cracked).

THE FIRST FLEET JOURNAL, one of three issues in 1793, with the earliest published view of Port Jackson, Sydney, by E. Dayes after Hunter, and a notable engraving by Blake after P.G. King of 'A Family of New South Wales'. Bentley Blake Books 476; Ferguson 152; Hill 857.
