Three watercolors.

Little Sea Town * Wharf Dwelling. Both watercolor, brush and ink on wove paper, 1947. Both signed and dated in ink, lower right, and titled in ink, lower left * Mother and Child on Rocking Chair, watercolor, pen and ink. Each ex-collection Carl C. Ashby, New York.

Howard Mitcham (1917-1996) was a well-known Provincetown artist, chef and cookbook author. He studied at the University of Louisiana in art and architecture, moved to New York and ran the Jane Street Gallery in the 1940s. He wrote what is considered one of the best seafood cookbooks ever written, The Provincetown Seafood Cookbook. Various sizes and conditions.
