David Stewart of the Highland Society of London in connection with Hogg's work on Jacobite relics of Scotland [2 volumes, 1819-21] and explaining the circumstances of the debt, 2 pages, 4to, partly laid down, Altrive Lake by Selkirk, 23 March 1821

Note:" ...When the motion was first made to me of gathering up the Jacobite Relics of our native country I foresaw it would be a work of great labour and expense and proposed that the Society should give me £200... He...gave me to understand that if the work was creditably executed, I had a chance for the other moiety...I have done ample justice both to the Highland clans and their cause...I am poor and have need of it..."
