Item Overview

Description

[HERALDRY UNDER GEORGE III] Exquisite original copper late engraving, 101/2"x171/2", entitled Baronagium Genelogicum; or the Pegigrees of the English Peers with accurate beautiful hand-coloring produced by Sir William Segar (d. 1633) and Joseph Edmondson (d. 1785) in London, ca. 1764-84 during the reign of George III. This work is highly regarded for its detail and accuracy. Edmondson began his study of heraldry with this employment of emblazoning coat-armor on carriages. Segar never lived to see his work published, though his name will always be associated with this masterful production. Attractively matted to overall 18"x24", and ready for framing. Ideal for display. Est: $800-1200
