Notes

THE PROPERTY OF A GENTLEMAN
Sir Henry Wheatley was Kepper of the Privy Purse to William IV and Queen Victoria. Knighted in 1831, he became Major General in the Hanoverian Army and was awarded the Grand Cross of Hanover in 1834. During his distinguished career he received other decorations including Companion of the Order of the Most Honourable Order of the Bath in 1848.
