Henry Edward Spernon Tozer (1864-c.1938) Interior Scene, with a lady taking tea beside a fireplace Signed and dated "1932", also inscribed with the artistÆs name on a plaque attached to the slip below, pencil and watercolour heightened with white, 22cm by 32cm Born at Sheppey, Kent, specialising in cottage interiors Listed in the local trade directories as an artist working 1890-1924 at Thursley, Surrey, although dated work suggests that he was working until 1938. Often confused with the Cornish marine painter Henry E. Tozer.
