HELEN MONRO TURNER (SCOTTISH 1901-1977) STUDIES FOR DESIGN white ink on black paper, framed mount size 40cm x 60cm Note: Helen Munro Turner was a hugely influential figure in glass design in the 20th century. A glass engraver, artist, illustrator and inspirational teacher, she created the Department of Glass Design at Edinburgh College of Art circa 1950 that has become a fundamental component of Scottish glass history and development in the latter half of the 20th century. This entire private collection formed part of the much celebrated Helen Munro Turner Memorial Exhibition at The Scottish Gallery, Edinburgh in July 2007. Most lots are offered without reserve.
