Description

1332. ISAAC ISRAEL HAYES (1832-1881) American explorer who led an Arctic expedition aimed at proving the existence of open seas around the North Pole. A.L.S. "I. I. Hayes", 2pp. 8vo., New York, June 20, 1873, to Mr. Rudporter [?], in part: "...The check came alright...The...Houghton matter is settled...". Scrawled somewhat illegibly, with a pen rapidly fading on the first page. Hayes replaced it with purple ink, and signature is bold. Some hole at top right, otherwise very good. $75 - 100
