Notes

Raymond Brunner, Hattie Brunner's grandson, is credited with inspiring his grandmother to begin painting around 1956. According to a November 8, 1996 news article in the Reading Eagle / Times, Hattie Brunner reportedly painted about three pictures with her grandson. One example is inscribed "Raymond James Brunner, 7-years-old, drew this picture and Hattie K. Brunner painted it in 1956." That example sold at the Horst auction of the Elwood Miller collection in 1996.
