Description

Harry William Adams, RBA (British, 1868-1947) Pollards by a Stream in Winter signed lower right "Hary W Adams" oil on canvas 122 x 122cm Harry Adams was born in Worcester and studied in Paris at the Academie Julian from 1895-96. He later worked at Royal Worcester Porcelain and taught life drawing at Worcester College of Art during the war. Harry Adams was a regular exhibitor at the Royal Academy from 1896-1927, and his work is at the Tate Gallery, London, and Worcester City Museum. Harry Adams became well known as a landscape painter of mountain and snow scenes, inspired by several visits to Switzerland.
