Berg creates optical installations through which light is refracted to conjure ephemeral shifting visions charged with colour and luminosity. The works' playful visual humour engages the viewer in a more serious dialogue about creativity and 'why art is a fundamental manifestation of this instinct' (Janne Gallen-Kallela-Sirén, HC Berg Being Against Emptiness, Finland, 2007, p. 13). Berg's work has been shown both in Europe and the U.S.A.; he was presented with the Finnish National Young Artist of the Year Award in 2007.
