Hamish B. Lawrie (1919-1987), Scottish loch, signed, gallery label on verso, mixed media, 14.5 x 24.5cm.; 5.75 x 9.75in. * First major exhibition of Scottish landscapes and Irish gouaches in 1947 at Wolf Mankowitz's Little Gallery. In Scotland his favourite subjects were in the western Highlands and the Outer Hebrides. A regular exhibitor in Edinburgh, he was a popular figure in the Scottish Arts Club.
