Item Overview

Description

ÔThis is our most important painting. The top right-hand side is a place we call Gulwarmedan, which means Ôwhere they chucked the bodies inÕ. Another name we call it is ÔTrick HillÕ. The bodies are still there now, but it is too hard to walk in. I camped at this place with my wife Dolly long time ago, and saw the bodies in a little gorge. The gudi (white men) were doing a lot of shooting in them days. When I was little kid, my grandfather took me to show me. We got native title now. Its what we call back-to-back.Õ Jack Dale Mengenen, Derby, 2008
