Guiseppe Gustavo Scoppa - Italian (b. 1856 - ?) "Villa Reale," and its companion "V. di Napoli de Posillipo," a pair of gouache paintings, each inscribed and one signed on the black border, in late 19th Century painted black frames, 16" x 25" (41cms x 64cms). (2) N.B. - Scoppa was born in Naples 1856, son of Rain Mondo Scoppa (Artist). After he studied with his father he attended a Naples Academy were he painted animal landscapes and marine scenes, but was much better known for his Italian City Views such as the ones depicted here.
