Graham Ovenden was one of the founders of The Brotherhood of Ruralists, formed in 1975, and which had its first show at the Royal Academy in 1976. This group of seven artists, based in the West Country, believed in re-introducing a more romantic and mystical element into British art. Graham Arnold, another founding member, is also represented in this sale.
