Gordon A. Bradshaw (b.1931) BISHOP'S STORTFORD COMPOSITION Signed with initials and dated '61, oil on canvas, 153 x 184cm In the 1960's Gordon Bradshaw taught at Bishop's Stortford College and was commissioned by the vendor's father to paint this composition of the town. He was subsequently an art lecturer at Portsmouth Art College, before settling in France, where he still lives. An exhibition in the Ezair Gallery in New York, in 2003, recent shows in Portsmouth and Liverpool and representation in UK public collections have ensured continuing interest in his work.
