This Magdalen is the same personage as is represented in the celebrated Picture of the Crucifixion, by Luini, in the Convent of the Capuchin Friars at Lugano, and its originality is attested by Pelagi and Stambacchi, two celebrated Painters at Milan, where it was bought.'
