Notes

Son of artist Leopoldo Focardi and brother to the painter Ruggero, Giovanni Focardi studied under Enrico Pazzi in Florence before moving to London in 1875. Known for his genre and portrait sculptures, he exhibited a model of You Dirty Boy in Paris in 1878. Another of his bronzes entitled Sweet Rest is in the Galleria Nazioanle d'Arte Moderna in Rome.
