The present drawing dates from the last years of the 16th Century, early in Baglione's career, and can be compared with drawings for the frescoes in Santa Maria dell'Orto, Rome, painted in 1598 (M. Smith O'Neil, 'Cavaliere Giovanni Baglione: "Il modo Eccelente di Disegnare"', Master Drawings, XXXVI (1998), pp. 355-377, figs. 22, 25 and 27).

No VAT will be charged on the hammer price, but VAT at 17.5% will be added to the buyer's premium which is invoiced on a VAT inclusive basis.
