‘The complex composite image is constructed by the careful sandwiching together of a number of advertisements that have previously been subjected to a process of dissection and removal of all the body and text elements… [The] collages develop Fairhurst’s interest in making an image by either addition or reduction, summarised in the artist’s proposal, “Keep adding until you can’t add anything else.
