GEROME L. KAMROWSKI [AMERICAN 1914-2004], ACRYLIC ON LINEN, 1969, 39" X 106", UNTITLED COMPOSITION: Initialed and dated lower right; 39" x 106 1/4"; unframed. Provenance: gift from Kamrowski to Mark Solent, a prominent Ann Arbor, MI builder, after the completion of Solent's house [house completed 1968-1969]. Consignor of the painting bought the home directly from Solent and the painting was included in the deal. Kamrowski taught art the University of Michigan for 38 years and then was honored as a professor emeritus of art at the U of M. He is nationally renowned as an early artist of the surrealist movement.
