Born in Dublin, Gerard Byrne is one of Ireland’s leading contemporary artists. Byrne’s oil painting is distinctive for its vibrant palette, expressive brushwork and skillful contrasts of light and shade, all of which bring to mind the work of the Impressionist Masters. It is for this reason that Byrne may be referred to as a modern Impressionist. His artwork can be seen in private and corporate art collections across Ireland and the world, including the Irish Government’s Art Collection, the Irish Embassies in Singapore and Beijing, and the Citadelle Art Museum in Texas, USA.

With no history of formal artistic training, Bryne's artistic career spans over 30 years with 30+ solo exhibitions worldwide. In 2017 he established the Gerard Byrne Studio in Ranelagh, Dublin. The four-room Fine Art gallery space also offers a glimpse into Byrne’s creative artistic process. The Gerard Byrne Studio brings Byrne’s work to the public in carefully curated, imaginative exhibitions, which are well regarded and highly respected by art critics, collectors and curators. Artwork Description: Auctioned artwork is one off, A/P (Artist Proof) Fine Art Print framed with museum quality UV70 anti – reflective glass with UV protection. The print is signed by the artist at the back and comes with the Certificate of Authenticity and Hologram label with serial number. The original 'Blissful Journey' painting features Portobello's famous LOCKS Restaurant and Windsor Terrace. Painted en plein air, in June 2020, the painting formed part of Gerard's latest collection and the exhibition 'Pause For Harmony. Art in Lockdown'. The artwork is donated to SCOOP Art Auction and ALL proceeds raised will go to SCOOP Ed programmes.

Cost of delivery within Ireland will be covered by SCOOP and will be delivered by our Logistics partner - Expert Removals and Storage.
Any international couriers will be paid by the winning bidder. 
All artworks will be transferred to Expert Removals and Storage on the afternoon of Tuesday 27th April.
Artworks will be delivered within a 7 day period after this date. 
You will be contacted with details of delivery by text message. 
If you are not home you will need to rearrange delivery directly with Expert Removals and Storage.

AUCTION DETAILS
Auction days are Friday 23rd, Saturday 24th, Sunday 25th and Monday 26th April.
Friday's session kicks off at 7.30pm Irish Standard Time (IST), Sat & Sun days start at 2.30pm and the final day (which was recently added due to popular demand) starts at 7:30pm.

Bidding is by online paddle only and all bidders must register with Invaluable beforehand. Register at www.invaluable.com (search SCOOP Foundation in search bar). 

All lots must be paid in full prior to delivery.

All buyers are subject to a 20% buyers premium, which helps the charity cover event, admin and delivery costs, as well as the charge for using the online bidding portal (5%).

The auctioneer and event managers are authorised to execute bids on behalf of absentee bidders.

All disputes will be settled at the Auctioneer's discretion.

PHONE BIDDING
All phone bidders must register their name, phone number and interested lot(s) / artist & artwork by noon on Thursday the 22nd of April 2021. Any communication received after this deadline is not guaranteed to be tended to.
