Canvas is not lined. A repaired tear of circa 5 inches at center of upper edge; another 4 inch long, vertical, repaired tear near the lower left corner; scattered craquelure. Under ultraviolet light: inpainting on the abovementioned repairs, with the upper repair being considerably larger; the couple at left is partly covered with masking varnish; some inpainting is visible on the soldier's hands.
