GEORGE SNOW HILL (American, 1898-1969) THE COMICAL FOX HUNT. Oil on wood panel scene shows two fox hunters on horseback trailing five hounds that are chasing a red fox. They have come over a hill and disrupted a Mammy who is washing laundry in a large tub. One of the dogs is tangled amongst the clothes. Unsigned. Board having a stamp date of "Aug 45". Housed in a modern gilt arts & crafts style frame. SIZE: 8-1/2" x 10-1/2". CONDITION: Very good, some light roughness at frame edge. 9-93038 (1,000-1,500)
