Acquired from the artist by the present owner's father in the mid 1950s

Notes

Cast in an edition of three in 1955. The original maquette for this sculpture was taken to a foundry in Rome for casting by Fullard's photographer friend Frank Monaco, and it appears in a photograph of Fullard and Monaco at the sculptor's studio at Fawcett Yard, off Fulham Road, taken circa 1956 (reproduced in Gillian Whiteley, op.cit., pl.36). One of the three casts was purchased in 1956 for the collection of the National Gallery of South Australia.
