BIOGRAPHY: George Carpenter (1928-2006, America) Carpenter was a painter of American impressionist landscape scenes which he created in oil and watercolor with expressionistic, color filled brush-strokes. He was a master of color and application. Carpenter exhibited throughout the United States and Canada with organizations such as: the American Watercolor Society; the National Academy of Design; Allied Artists of America; the Salmagundi Club; National Arts Club; American Artists Professional League; Hudson Valley Art Association; and the Hammond Museum, the Anchorage Fine Arts Museum, Black Hills State College and the Copley Society. In 2007, the Rockport Art Association held the first major posthumous retrospective of the artist’s work the following information comes from the Rockport Art Association promotion webpage for this exhibit…. “[Carpenter] has lectured and demonstrated his technique throughout the United States, Canada, and Europe.

His work has been reviewed in ‘La Revue Modern’, Paris; ‘Allguaer’, Marktoberdorf, Germany; ‘Dallas Morning Star’, Dallas, Texas; and many art letters and journals. His paintings have been shown in over 100 one-man and group exhibitions, some of which include The American Watercolor Society, New York; National Academy of Design, New York; Galerie Simonis, Ede, Holland; the Arts Club, Montreal, of which he is an honorary member; Down East Gallery, Washington, DC; Quadrangle Gallery, Dallas, Texas; San Diego Museum of Fine Arts, San Diego, CA, Farnsworth Museum, Rockland, Maine; Watercolor USA Honor Society, Springfield, MO., Peabody Essex Museum, Salem, MA, and the Rockport Art Association’ (‘In the Cove’, George Carpenter Gallery, Ogunquit, ME).” Paraphrased from refs. 1.) 11/02/2016, 2.) PAYMENT
Payment must be paid in full before property is released. After the auction bidders will receive an invoice via email detailing winning lots and charges at which time payment is due. Payment accepted includes: Check, Cash, Visa, Amex, Disc, MasterCard and Paypal. The invoice will have a live link to PayPal. Checks will need to clear before EMWAA will release the property. In cases of non-payment, the Auctioneer's right to void the sale does not relieve the bidder from their obligation to pay both seller's and buyer's premium and any damages incurred from loss of sale. Paid items left beyond 45 days become gallery property and will be sold.

BUYER'S PREMIUM
A 23% Buyer's premium will be in affect, in addition to the hammer or purchase price. All bidders will be subject to a 7% Florida State sales tax unless they have a have a valid Florida State Resale Certificate on file with E. M. Wallace Auctions prior to bidding.

SHIPPING
Pick-up, Packing, shipping and insurance of purchased lots is conducted by P.C. Patel owner of the Tarpon Springs Zip n Ship located at: 114 E Tarpon Ave, Tarpon Springs, FL 34689; (727) 937-1469; zipnship.patel@gmail.com. After payment to E. M. Wallace Auctions lots will be delivered to this location and the shipper will contact the buyer in regards to options and rates, alternatively, bidders may pick up directly from this secure location. Zip N Ship can accommodate USPS, FedEx and UPS. Should lots be purchased and needed in haste, the purchaser will need to communicate that with Zip N Ship. The buyer may also contact a shipping company of their choosing. The buyer will not hold E. M. W. Auctions liable for any damage or loss after merchandise has been released from our possession. We will not be liable for any tariffs, VAT, GST or other taxes or charges. We will not ship ivory internationally.
