George A. Storey (RA, 1834-1919), Three Works
the first a watercolor after Titian, an odelisque (SS 4.5 x 7 in.), matted; the second a watercolor after a painting in the Prado (SS 6.5 x 5 in.), matted; the third a watercolor after Rembrandt (SS 6 x 4 in.), matted. Storey was born in London, but educated in Paris. When he returned to London, he worked briefly for an architect before studying under J. M. Leigh and J.L. Dulong. He exhibited at the Royal Academy from 1852 and studied at the Royal Academy schools from 1854. He was elected full member of the Royal Academy in 1914.
