Collection of the Earl of Inchiquin, Dromoland Castle, Ireland, until circa 1989, whence acquired by the present owner.

The putti and architectural elements are by a different hand. A further version of the same composition as the latter painting was offered at Bukowski's Stockholm, 19 May 1993, lot 208.
