Born in Dublin on the 9th May, he was the son of Padraic Trimble, author of a book of poems, Irish April, 1930. Garry began modelling in Plasticine at the age of eight. When he attended Belvedere College, he was encouraged to use his gift by the Jesuit Fathers. After this he went on to University College, Dublin where he studied architecture. A wall plaque for St Lukes's Hospital, depicing St Luke healing a sick boy, went on to win an award. Among some other of his works are Christy Brown(q.v), Lester Piggott, Richard Harris and Benedict Kiely to name but a few. Trimble was killed in a car accident in Dublin, on the 19th of August 1979.
