Notes

Gao Jianseng, together with his brothers Gao Jianfu (1879-1951) and Gao Qifeng (1889-1933), was called "The Three Gaos of the Lingnan School". In 1912, he went to Shanghai with his brothers and issued a publication of Chinese paintings. Later, he pursed further studies on craftmanship and fine arts in Japan and passed away there at the age of twenty-three.
