Peter Arnold Fritze studied at the Berlin University of the Arts. His chosen home has been Cologne since 1983. He has been a professor and lecturer for Figurative Drawing and Design with the Niederrhein University since 1982. Today he works as a painter, costume designer and illustrator.

The present work depicts a 3000-year-old terra-cotta sculpture in the centre of a table top, a so-called goddess of love found on Crete in modern times. The figurine comes from the Indus culture, one of the oldest civilizations on earth that inhabited a region covering all of Pakistan and stretching far into present India. The erotic triad has been deprived of emotion, if not undermined due to the slightly martial attire of the two very beautiful women, their fixed gaze and their marionette-like posture. The table top being of glass, a cool material in itself, conveys the impression of an object slide on a microscope in front of which the beholder has taken place.
