Description

French Porcelain Chess Set Designed by Robert Bloch, Porcelaine de Paris, 1939, in black and white and white and black with gilding. The figures are adapted from the Lewis medieval chess men including seated kings and queens, knights on horseback carrying shields, rooks as towers, and the pawns as infantry with shields. King is 7.6 cm (3 in) and Pawn 5.7 cm (2 1/4 in) high
