Frederick William Davis, R.I., R.B.A., R.B.S.A. (British, 1862-1919) "Game of Dice", 1890, oil on canvas, signed and dated lower left "F Davis 1890", 25-1/2" x 45-1/2". Presented in a carved giltwood and plaster frame in the Louis XVI taste, the inner molding relief carved with tangent "C"-links, the concave primary molding plain, darkly gilded and distressed to the scarlet bole, the outer molding of laurel leaves and berries.
