"Some years after Fred [Taylor] moved to Mexico, his life-long friends Dr. Frank and Letitia Echlin, also came and bought a house. The Echlins found a fine Mexican couple to stay on the property as caretakers. Irene is the second child of this couple. She was eight years old when this sculpture was made."
