Notes

The attribution to Wagenschön was confirmed to the previous owner by Professor Dr Lubomir Slavicek. The four scenes are derived, with notable elements of subjective interpretation, from Cornelis Bloemaert's engravings after Pietro da Cortona's frescoes in the Sala di Venere in the Palazzo Pitti. Wagenschön's work shows a strong Italian influence imparted by Michelangelo Unterperger, his teacher at the Academy in Vienna.

No VAT will be charged on the hammer price, but VAT at 17.5% will be added to the buyer's premium which is invoiced on a VAT inclusive basis.
