Portrait of Pieter de la Court (1722-1775), small three-quarter-length, on a balcony, in a gold-embroidered oyster-grey jacket and a blue waistocat, his cane in his hand, and of his wife, Geertruida Jacoba de Bye (b. 1725) small three-quarter-length, seated, in a light blue dress, an African grey parrot perched on her hand, a landscape beyond signed and dated 'F.V.Mieris Fec. A. 1750.' (on the balcony, lower left) oil on panel 41.4 x 34.1 cm. PROVENANCE P.H. de la Court (label on the reverse).
