The steamer depicted with Vermont pennant and American flag, the sailboat with American flag. Oil on canvas, signed. 16 x 20 inches. Provenance: Private collection of Timothy J. Stevenson and Phyllis Carlson. Literature: A larger painting of Port Kent by Bullis in the collection of the Shelburne Museum is illustrated and discussed in "Paintings and Drawings at the Shelburne Museum" by Nancy C. Muller, p. 37, and two smaller versions of this setting are also mentioned.
