[FRANKLIN, Benjamin]. Benjamin Franklin, né à Boston le 17 Janvier 1706. Aquatint printed in colors, by Jean Francois Janinet (1752-1814) after JOSEPH-SIFFRED DUPLESSIS (1725-1802). [Paris] 1789.

Folio (13 x 9 3/8 in). Oval surround, aquatint engraving printed with colors on laid paper. The sheet with full margins. New York Public Library Bulletin, vol. 10, no. 142. Imprint beneath title: "A Paris chez Janinet Rue Dante feuille No 3." A fine bust portrait from Duplessis' famous portrait (now in New York's Metropolitan Museum). The elderly "Bon homme Richard" is depicted slightly turned, dressed in a loose collared coat, his hair long.
