Francois Cacheux, French 1923-2011- ''La Musique''; bronze with a green patina, signed and numbered 4/8, bears foundry mark, 78cm high, (may be subject to Droit de Suite) Note: Francois Cacheux, the grandson of the painter Armand Cacheux, studied under the French sculptor Robert Wlurick for three years and joined the French resistance F2 network in 1941. In 1954 Cacheux was awarded the Prize of the Villa Abd el Tif. He became professor of nude drawing at the School of Fine Arts in Clermont-Ferrand and two years later was appointed director of the Graduate School of Decorative Arts in Strasbourg where he remained for thirty years. His works are on display across Europe with some sculptures installed in parks and gardens
