Oval pastel portrait of a long brown haired child in a blue white lace edge dress. Arms are folded and resting on a red upholstered seat. Signed middle right "F. Alexander 1852" . Housed in its original oval gesso decorated painted frame. Label on reverse from the "Saint Botolph Club Portrait Exhibition January 3, 1905. Item No. 55. Leant by a member of the Chandler Family". The Club is located in Boston, MA and still in operation.
