Shipping in a harbor, including schooners, full-rigged ship and steamships. Signed lower left "A.R. Waud.". Alfred Rudolph Waud (English/American, 1828-1891). Noted illustrator during the Civil War and acclaimed by Harper's Weekly "as the most important artist-correspondent of the Civil War". Later traveled in the south and west to the Rockies. Oil on canvas, 14" x 18".
