Notes

Zhang Cining, born in Cangxian in Hebei province, was a Qing dynasty painter. When he visited the capital as a young artist, his works could compare to those of Luo Ping (1733-1799), one of the famous Yangzhou Eccentrics. Eventually, Zhang Cining moved to southern Tongzhou, where he became a judge.
