FIVE ARCHAISTIC JADE 'CICADA' ORNAMENTS

Late Qing Dynasty

Each drilled with a channel at the mouth for stringing, the largest carved in stylized form with large head and rounded eyes, the pale celadon stone tinted brown in areas; one with rounded bulging body and simply carved in stylized grooves, the stone stained black in most areas; one of oval form with large protruding eyes, simply incised to indicate wings and feet, the pale mottled stone stained black on the top; the smallest of oval form with simple incised lines to indicate wings and eyes, the celadon stone slightly degraded.
