FIVE ARCHAISTIC JADE AXE-SHAPED PENDANTS

Late Qing Dynasty

Comprising two similar flat trapezoidal shape pendants, each tapering to the cutting edge, pierced through with a small aperture towards the narrow end, simply carved with a
chi dragon; a flat oval pendant, largely degraded to an uneven surface, the olive-green stone burnt black; a 'hatchet head' ornament of stylized form, the 'blade' tinted black; the axe ornament following archaic bronze form and decorated with a crouching tiger on top, drilled under the mythical beast for stringing, the green stone stained black in areas. Two trapezoidal pendants: 3in (7.6cm) long each;
Oval pendant: 2in (5.1cm) long;
Hatchet: 1 3/8in (3.5cm) long;
Axe with tiger finial: 2 1/8in (5.4cm) long
