FIVE ARCHAISTIC JADE AND HARDSTONE ANIMAL CARVINGS

Late Qing Dynasty

The hound resting in recumbent position with the head resting on the outstretched paws, the tail curled on the back, perforated at the center for stringing, the stone mottled olive brown; the
fu lion with a forked tail looking left, perforated between the paws, the mottled gray stone lightly polished; the horse in recumbent position with its head turning left, perforated under the chin, the gray stone tinted black in areas; the recumbent dog looking up, perforated between the paws and to the body, the light celadon stone tinted black to one side; the cat resting on a large leaf, perforated by the paws, the 'chicken bone' stone mottled in various tones of gray.
