Fernando Batista (1925- ), American FISHING BOAT AT DOCK; Oil on board; signed lower left 22" x 26" - 55.9 x 66 cm. Note: Fernando Batista was born in New Bedford, Massachusetts in 1925. He is self taught and specializes in seascapes and harbour scenes of New England. A member of the North Shore Arts Association, his work has been exhibited throughout the New England states. Besides several one man shows he has won the following awards: Best in Show, Newport, R.I.; Purchase Award, University of Rhode Island. First prizes in shows held in Mystic Groton, Stratford, Connecticut and Narragansette R.I., plus numerous other awards.
